To further implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on achieving scientific and technological self-reliance and promoting Chinese-style modernization through new industrialization, a cultural exchange meeting titled “Anchoring on high-end, intelligent, and green development, contributing to new industrialization” and SINOMACH’s Sixth Machinery Industry Anniversary Celebration were held in Beijing on August 7. Through the event, 120,000 SINOMACH employees united their strength, shouldered their mission and responsibilities, identified the right direction for development, adhered to integrity and innovation, strengthened core functions, and enhanced core competitiveness, writing a new chapter for SINOMACH on the new journey of serving new industrialization.
The event was attended by former Ministers of the Ministry of Machinery Industry He Guangyuan and Bao Xuding; former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Machinery Industry Sun Changji; former Head of the Discipline Inspection Group of the Machinery Industry Bureau and former Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Large Central Enterprises Jia Chengbing; former Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Vice Chairman of the Economic Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Su Bo; relevant officials from the Social Responsibility Bureau of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the China Machinery, Metallurgical and Building Materials Union of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions; Xu Niansha, Party Secretary and President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, and Zhang Wenhong, Vice President; Xiong Meng, Party Secretary, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Federation of Industrial Economics, and member of the National Strategic Advisory Committee for Building a Strong Manufacturing Nation; Li Xingqiang, Party Member and Vice Director of the Chongqing State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission; and Xu Jian, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chief Scientist of SINOMACH, and former Director, General Manager, and Deputy Party Secretary of SINOMACH. Zhang Xiaolun, Party Secretary and Chairman of SINOMACH, delivered a speech, and Ding Hongxiang, Deputy Party Secretary of SINOMACH, presided over the event. External directors and members of the SINOMACH leadership team also attended.
Zhang Xiaolun pointed out that this event not only carries on and inherits the glorious traditions of the machinery industry, but also represents a solemn commitment to a new journey and new goals. In the grand journey of the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, SINOMACH will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, persist in forging SINOMACH’s strengths and serving the needs of the nation, continue to play its “three roles,” bravely shoulder the responsibility of being “three vanguards,” focus on “high-end, intelligent, and green” development, accelerate the development of new-quality productive forces, strive to build a world-class cluster of professional, technology-driven leading enterprises, and strive to become the main force in equipping China’s new industrialization.
Xu Niansha congratulated SINOMACH on its new achievements. He stated that in recent years, SINOMACH has made significant contributions to the development of the machinery industry. As we forge ahead in the 15th Five-Year Plan, the China Machinery Industry Federation will collaborate with SINOMACH and advance in tandem, strengthening cooperation and services in six areas: manufacturing, scientific research, “going global,” business development, legal affairs, and think tanks. We will inherit and carry forward the glorious traditions of the machinery industry and unremittingly strive to build a world-class SINOMACH, promote new industrialization, and build a manufacturing powerhouse.
Xiong Meng fully affirmed SINOMACH’s achievements in key technological equipment research, intelligent manufacturing demonstrations, and green and low-carbon development. He stated that SINOMACH’s story and achievements in striving for new industrialization are solid footsteps in the group’s march toward the goal of becoming a “manufacturing powerhouse,” fully demonstrating SINOMACH’s responsibility and demeanor as the backbone and ballast of central SOEs. He expressed hope that SINOMACH will continue to make new contributions in serving the nation’s grand journey toward new industrialization.
The “2024 Social Responsibility Report of China National Machinery Industry Corporation” was released at the event.
The group’s designated rural revitalization support county, Pinglu County, Shanxi Province, showcased its commitment to promoting comprehensive rural revitalization with poetry and local folk art performances. In recent years, SINOMACH has developed a “SINOMACH support model” for rural revitalization, characterized by “planning guidance, industrial development, agricultural machinery empowerment, and talent support.” It has tailored its approach to local conditions with a number of distinctive and effective projects benefiting farmers and the people. Local city and county leaders and residents praised its efforts as “genuine poverty alleviation and genuine assistance.”
Subsidiaries of the Group, including YTO, SINOMACH Heavy Equipment, and the Instrument and Meter Group, exchanged views on mission, responsibility, and cultural heritage and innovation. Through the program, viewers were able to experience YTO and witness the 70 years of progress in China’s agricultural mechanization; to visit SINOMACH Heavy Equipment, they understood the spirit of model workers, the spirit of hard work, and craftsmanship; and to visit the Instrument and Meter Group, they understood the original aspiration of “serving the country through industry” and the determination to compete courageously.
The event concluded with a reading of selected excerpts from outstanding essays themed “Forging SINOMACH’s Strengths, Serving the Nation’s Needs, and Taking on the Responsibility of New Industrialization.” These ten outstanding essays embody the wisdom, dedication, and sincerity of SINOMACH employees, inspiring them to forge ahead in the future and contribute even more to the accelerated advancement of new industrialization.
Building on the past and ushering in a new era, we will innovate and forge ahead, forging ahead with ambitious plans. The event vividly showcased the SINOMACH’s commitment to “forging SINOMACH’s strengths and serving the nation’s needs” and its fruitful achievements. It also demonstrated the SINOMACH employees’ commitment to “success does not necessarily depend on me” while striving to create achievements that “must contribute to success.” It also demonstrated SINOMACH’s commitment to high-end, intelligent, and green development, and their commitment to writing a new chapter for SINOMACH in the great journey of promoting Chinese-style modernization through new-type industrialization.
The event was held in a combination of live and video events. Heads of various departments at the group headquarters, Party Committee inspection commissioners, heads of the Supervision Office, and employee representatives attended the event, along with team members, some leaders, and employee representatives from second-tier and third-tier Class A enterprises, as well as media reporters.
