On August 2nd, with a resounding whistle, the Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Land Port launched its 1000th rail-sea intermodal train.
This train, loaded with 49 cars of office furniture and other Luoyang-made products, headed east to the Indonesian ports of Surabaya, Jakarta, and Semarang, marking another solid step forward for Luoyang in international logistics and high-level opening up.

Since the launch of international freight trains in 2017, the Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Land Port, located at China YTO, has witnessed the remarkable growth of Luoyang’s foreign trade.
In the early days of the rail-sea intermodal trains, the number of trains operated annually was in the single digits, primarily transporting a relatively limited range of products and exporting to a limited number of destinations. The Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Land Port has continuously innovated and optimized its logistics services, increasing the frequency of train operations. At the same time, we are deepening strategic cooperation with leading companies in the same industry, focusing on the construction of Luoyang’s inland “dry port,” and jointly creating an “end-to-end” land-sea intermodal transport channel, accelerating the operation of the land port. By attracting external resources and connecting with domestic partners, Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Land Port has collaborated with leading companies in the railway, port, and shipping industries, including Qingdao Port, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, COSCO Shipping, and China Railway Container, to build the inland “Luoyang Dry Port” and “base.” Over 40 companies are now involved in the land-port’s intermodal transport, and the number of trains operating annually has increased significantly. Export products include agricultural machinery, motorcycles, ceramic sanitary ware, photovoltaic products, and other categories. Export destinations have also expanded to include Savannah and New York in Europe and the United States, West Klang in Malaysia, Laem Chabang in Thailand, Cebu in the Philippines, and Casablanca in Morocco in Africa.

Furthermore, the Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Land Port has also driven the agglomeration and development of related industries. A number of supporting service companies, including logistics warehousing, customs clearance and inspection, and freight forwarding, have settled in around the dry port, forming a relatively complete logistics industry ecosystem.
Looking ahead, the Dongfanghong (Luoyang) International Dry Port will continue to leverage its strengths, continuously improving the frequency and quality of regular train operations, further expanding its transportation routes and service scope. At the same time, it will strengthen cooperation with countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative, building more convenient and efficient international trade channels for businesses in the Luoyang area. This will continue to inject new vitality into Luoyang’s economic development and foreign trade, allowing more Luoyang-made products to enter the global market.
